Cardiovascular imaging is, without question, a dynamic and growing area for many cardiologists and radiologists. We are delighted to have Stephan Achenbach, MD, FACC, FESC, as Editor of this new publication in this developing field. As he points out in his introduction to this first issue, “Knowledge of radiology, cardiology, and vascular disease is necessary to competently perform and evaluate the CT scan.”
Many publications adequately cover diagnostic imaging, and many others address cardiovascular research, scientific breakthroughs, and clinical guidelines. Cardiovascular Imaging and Therapeutics takes a bold step further to bring together diagnostics and therapeutics into one publication.
Two issues are planned for this year, initially published as supplements to Applied Radiology. Each issue will include topics of interest to both radiologists and cardiologists. The review articles and case reports will address the use of diagnostic imaging and the therapeutic patient management of cardiovascular diseases and conditions. They will present current approaches to cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment and will include relevant protocols and patient outcomes.
